Many of you willl arrive
at Glasgow International Airport. From there you will
need to travel to Ft. William, which is ~ 100 miles
(160 km) north of Glasgow. You can travel by train,
bus or car.
Train
travel
First you must travel
from Glasgow Airport to Glasgow Queen St. railway station.
From there you take a train to Ft. William.
The most convenient way
to get to Glasgow Queen St. railway station from the
airport is by taxi (travel time ~ 20 min, cost ~ £17).
Otherwise, you can take a bus. There are regular bus
services that have drop off points close to Glasgow
Central and Glasgow Queen Street railway stations. If
you find yourself at Glasgow Central Station you should
take a taxi from there to Glasgow Queen St. Station.
There is a bus between the two railway stations, but
it is inconvenient.
*Note* There
are two railway stations at Glasgow. Some buses from
Glasgow airport go to Glasgow Central Station. Trains
to Ft. William leave from Glasgow Queen St. Station.
You are advised to take a taxi if you need to travel
between these two stations.

Car rentals
There are many car rental
firms available, and if you feel inclined to travel
by car you may be able to rent one at Glasgow and return
it at Ft. William, and vice versa for your return journey.
A search of the web via Google or other search engine
reveals many choices of car rental firms. |
