This special issue of CEJG will contain a collection of papers to celebrate the life and work of Professor Piero Comin-Chiaramonti. The research themes cover many of the subjects which most interested him, especially evolution of magmas from mantle melting to eruption of flood basalts of the Paranás plateau (Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina).

We as guest editors are soliciting manuscripts for this special issue with the deadline for manuscript submission being 31 January 2014 and the target date of publication is June 2014. We are interested in receiving contributions on the mineralogy and petrology of mafic-ultrammafic and alkaline rocks-carbonatites and associated hydrothermal deposits. All those interested in submitting a manuscript are requested to immediately contact one of the Guest Editors by sending an email. This would be much appreciated.
